A poem "Autumn passion" by Ouyang Xiu, Sung Dynasty (North Sung)

 

節物豈不好，秋懷何黯然!

西風酒旗市，細雨菊花天。

感事悲雙鬢，包羞食萬錢。

鹿車何日駕，歸去潁東田。

Scenery of the season are soothing and sound,

Why in this Autumn season I am feeling down?

In town, westerly wind keeps the wine flags fly,,

Yellow flower blossoms against the drizzle sky.

State and family affair worries have turned my hair white,

It’s shameful to earn big money and do nothing right.

When can I once again drive my deer wheels,

Returning to Wingdong and cultivate my fields.
