氣 蒸 雲 夢 澤 , 波 撼 岳 陽 城 。

欲 濟 無 舟 楫   , 端 居 恥 聖 明   。

坐 觀 垂 釣 者 , 徒 有 羨 魚 情 。

 

Dong Ting Lake In August looks exquisitely smooth,

Water connected to sky seems cannot refrain.

The Cloud and Dream Marsh occupied by steam and mist,

Turbulent wave as if cracking the Yueyang City with no restrain.

Want to cross lake but found no boat to row,

Idling at home is a shame when great man is in reign..

Aimlessly watch others fish with a rod,

Seeing people catches fish I envy in vain.
