君自故鄉來，

應知故鄉事。

來日綺窗前，

寒梅著花未？

 

From my home town you have come,

Can you tell me in home town how did it go?

The day you part leaning against the window,

Did the plum tree blossom in the cold?

    After second thought, line 1 could be better like this:
    From my home town you come I been told

    This should make more rhythumic with line 2 and 4.
