An Autumn Evening in the Mountains – by Wang Wei

 

空 山 新 雨 後 ,        天 氣 晚 來 秋 。

明 月 松 間 照 ,        清 泉 石 上 流 。

竹 喧 歸 浣 女 ,        蓮 動 下 渔 舟 。

随 意 春 芳 歇 ,        王 孫 自 可 留 。

 

Mountain seems empty after the rain,

Weather spreading an Autumn feel as evening falls.

 

 Bright moon shines through the pine trees,

On the rocks the stream swiftly runs.

 

In the bamboo grove, some home coming wash-ladies are chatting,

Fishing boat moves brushing aside many lotus leaves.

 

Leisurely I enjoy the Spring fragrance fading away,

Any traveler in this beautiful scene remains!
