上邪！         Oh, Heavens above!

我欲與君相知， I want to make companion with thee,

長命無絕衰。   My life long passion for thee will  never diminish,

山無陵，        Till mountains subsided,

江水為竭，      Till rivers run dried,

冬雷震震，       Till thunder storms in Winter,

夏雨雪，         Till snow falls in Summer,

天地合，         Till the earth and sky fused together,

乃敢與君絕！     Then I will dare to part with thee!

You ask for my date of return, but I don’t have one to explain,

Tonight in Bashan the pond is flooded with Autumn rain;

When do we trim candle at the window of West side,

And to tell you about Bashan's rainy night with no restrain

春花秋月何時了，往事知多少，

小樓昨夜又東風，故國不堪回首月明中，

雕欄玉砌應猶在，只是朱颜改，

問君能有幾多愁，恰似一江春水向東流!

Spring blossoms, Autumn moons, when will all these last?

In my mind, A lot of things have gone past!

In my little chamber last night, Easterly wind was blowing once again,

In the bright moon, I dare not to recall my home country but cannot refrain.

The carved railings, white marble corridors, should still be there,

It is just the owner’s face changed, that I don’t care!

How much sorrow can one have, in a man’s life that concern?

It’s just like the flooding Spring river, Ever heading East of no return!

天地初開 Introduction of my blog

 

天地初開

某日因讀唐宋大家柳宗元「始得西山宴遊記」，而覺句中很能表達所想之意境，「悠悠乎與灝氣俱，而莫得其涯!洋洋乎與造物者遊，而不知其所窮!」故以之為我網誌之名。是歲公元弍零零捌年拾壹月拾玖日也。

For those who cannot read Chinese:

The famous, Liu Zhong Yuen, one of the most popular eight poets in Tang and Sung Dynasty, once said this,

“Smoothly I fuse myself with the great enerry that exists in the universe, without

 

knowing where it starts;

Happily I walk with the Creator, without knowing where it ends!”

I have therefore adopted “Walk with the Creator” as name of my blog.

 

This blog is dedicated to Chinese culture, and bilateral translations between Chinese

 

and English.

白髮漁樵江渚上，慣看秋月春風

一壺濁酒喜相逢，古今多少事，

都付笑談中！

Roaring is the water of Long River runs East and never return,

Stunning is the wave storms away many heroes!

Right or wrong, success or failure, it all become nothing when it ends,

Green mountains still exists,

but sun goes up and down creating many rouge scenes.

 

The white-haired fisherman and the wood cutter seen on the river bank,

They quiety watch the come and go of the Autumn moon and Spring breeze.

Even a bottle of common wine is good enough to treat friends,

From ancient to now, there are too many legends,

They all being laughed away in many jokes!

「歸去來辭」

忽然想起陶淵明的「歸去來辭」作為我的網誌卷首話:

　
「歸去來兮，田園將蕪胡不歸？既自以心為形役，奚惆悵而獨悲？悟已往之不諫，知來者之可追。實迷途其未遠，覺今是而昨非。舟遙遙以輕颺，風飄飄而吹衣。問征夫以前路，恨晨光之熹微。乃瞻衡宇，載欣載奔。僮僕歡迎，稚子候門。三 徑就荒，松菊猶存 ... 」。
